My wife and I have been debating the purchase of a new leather living room suite for some time now. We purchased a leather set for our family room eight years ago from the Chesterfield Shop on Dundas Street in Mississauga. We were quite happy with the set and the service from the sales agent, Dennis, at that time. It made sense that we began our search for a living room set in the same location.
We were delighted to see Dennis again. What impressed us both was that even with all the years and all the customers whom he has assisted since we last saw him, Dennis remembered us right away. We stressed that we were just starting our search and were mostly in the store to look. Dennis was happy to assist; he paid particular attention to our needs and concerns, then took the time to explain the available options. He had us try each piece out and, based on our feedback, he guided us to another possibility. There was absolutely no sales pressure whatsoever; he was genuinely focused on finding the right fit for us.
“Just looking” turned into finding the perfect sofa set. We chose 3 hide samples to take home to compare the colours with our room and lighting. Dennis also took time to explain the different leather grades to help with our decision-making.
The next day, we made up our minds, returned the hides, and purchased the sofa, loveseat, and a chair. As we finished the paperwork for our order, we mentioned that we would be looking to re-furnish our basement at some point and asked Dennis for his opinion on the best option. We had something in mind that would recline. Again, without any pressure, Dennis suggested he might have something in the clearance section we would like, more casual for a family room environment. He asked if we would be interested in seeing what they had. Once more, he walked us through a few options and found the perfect set to suit our needs.
As this furniture was clearance, we made an offer which Dennis took the time to relay to the Chesterfield Shop owner by phone. The owner was kind enough to consider our offer and accept it. In the end, we went from “just looking” to purchasing two leather couches, two love seats and a chair.
We cannot praise Dennis enough for his professionalism and his helpful, courteous nature. He listened to our needs attentively and made recommendations based on his expert product knowledge. The gentleman is not a Platinum salesperson but a triple-Platinum salesperson, in our opinion. This is why we come back to the Chesterfield Shop first when we want to buy furniture.
