Our new City Sized Seating™ Downtown location features smaller scale flexible, functional urban seating, perfect for apartments, condos, lofts, townhomes and full-size homes.

We specialize in sofas, modular deep sectionals, sofa-beds (with amazing mattresses), pairs of chairs, recliners and seating that disassembles and reassembles (we’ll do it for you upon delivery!) for easy access into most tight spaces (and small elevators and narrow stairways!). We provide a free “check-measure” service if you are in-doubt of the fit.

The comprehensive selection includes sofas, sofa-beds, sectionals, loveseats, chairs, recliners, lift-chairs, home theatre, ottomans and more. The Chesterfield Shop opened it’s original location in Toronto’s Junction selling sofa-beds. Over the past 7 decades, The Chesterfield Shop remains family-owned and operated, and has evolved into 6 wonderful locations in the GTA and Newmarket– and sofa-beds are still our thing. They come in all shapes, from single and full to Queen and King. With easy-to-open contract mechanisms, and a large selection of Posturepedic or gel mattresses, there is a comfortable sleeping option for everyone. In-stock or special order.

The Chesterfield Shop carries City-Size™Seating designed to look proportionally beautiful and easily fit into smaller spaces. Many of the sofa we carry have arms and backs that can be removed and reassembled for impossibly tight spaces. We offer complimentary check-measures if there’s any doubt- we do our best to ensure a “no-fit” doesn’t occur.

I spent hours shopping online and even purchased a sofa from another retailer that turned out to be uncomfortable and poorly made—we ended up having to return it. Visiting the Chesterfield Shop was a completely different experience. They had sofas at every price point and in every style, all available to try in person, which made such a difference.
The best part was being able to fully customize the fabric and style to exactly what we wanted. We ended up with a perfect couch—beautifully made in Canada, exceptional quality, and delivered right to our home—for the same price as the cheaper online retailer.
A huge thank you to Binal, our sales rep, for all of her help, patience, and guidance throughout the process. She made the experience easy and enjoyable from start to finish.

Just got a new sectional today--so damn comfortableee

We were helped by Karen, who had good vibes. She helped us feel out what was best for us and we were in-out quickly. I highly recommend you ask for Karen :).

Their in-house delivery service was also 10/10. Arrived exactly on time, and they were also in and out in no time. haha.

I have to say that after some horrendous experiences shopping for a sectional at some competitors, buying at this store was an absolute pleasure.
Bin al was courteous and knowledgeable without doing the “hard sell” and she figured correctly that I’d be thrilled to be buying Canadian 🇨🇦.
She patiently explored fabric and dimensional options with me and the final price was clearly explained and more than fair. I am really looking forward to my new couch!
Best yet: Chesterfield Shop has a delivery option where they will install the new couch and remove the old couch. Win/win all round
This store has a really pleasant vibe and I would like to thank you all! (I don’t hate shopping quite so much!!)

It's been a few weeks since we received our couch and I am very happy with our purchase. We went to the store 3 times! before making a decision and Karen was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I never felt pressured and I felt that she was actually sharing facts that helped us decide. I would recommend it 100%.

We looked around a lot for new
Living room furniture …wanting to upgrade despite being in our early 70s…thinking there was no need to become like our grandparents who kept their stuff forever…(or to be fair maybe could not afford the luxury of changes). So - we eventually found Stephen at the Chesterfield Shop…delightful and productive experience that helped
Us decide among myriad options. …very good quality furniture at a good price without the hype of “cool” marketing or aggressive (or worse, blase) salesmanship…we highly recommend this place, and Stephen!
