Our new City Sized Seating™ Downtown location features smaller scale flexible, functional urban seating, perfect for apartments, condos, lofts, townhomes and full-size homes.

We specialize in sofas, modular deep sectionals, sofa-beds (with amazing mattresses), pairs of chairs, recliners and seating that disassembles and reassembles (we’ll do it for you upon delivery!) for easy access into most tight spaces (and small elevators and narrow stairways!). We provide a free “check-measure” service if you are in-doubt of the fit.

Newly opened in Summer 2022, there are two spacious levels, accessible by stairs and elevator, of beautiful seating. The comprehensive selection includes sofas, sofa-beds, sectionals, loveseats, chairs, recliners, lift-chairs, home theatre, ottomans and more. City-Size™ and Sofa-beds

The Chesterfield Shop opened it’s original location in Toronto’s Junction selling sofa-beds. Over the past 7 decades, The Chesterfield Shop remains family-owned and operated, and has evolved into 6 wonderful locations in the GTA and Newmarket– and sofa-beds are still our thing. They come in all shapes, from single and full to Queen and King. With easy-to-open contract mechanisms, and a large selection of Posturepedic or gel mattresses, there is a comfortable sleeping option for everyone. In-stock or special order.

The Chesterfield Shop carries City-Size™Seating designed to look proportionally beautiful and easily fit into smaller spaces. Many of the sofa we carry have arms and backs that can be removed and reassembled for impossibly tight spaces. We offer complimentary check-measures if there’s any doubt- we do our best to ensure a “no-fit” doesn’t occur.

I was looking for a pull out sofa for my RV in Prince Edward County. I found the perfect sofa and the bed was going to fit perfectly too. I ordered it, hoping it would be ready by end of May. It was. They delivered it right to the park and set it up in my trailer! It looks fantastic and now I have a comfy bed for guests.

Stephen and The Chesterfield Shop made our couch shopping easy and straigt forward. Stephen spent time with us trying to find the right size, features, fabric for our home. We were provided with plenty of details and info that made it easier to decide. It was an absolute pleasure shopping here. Also, having the ability to customize our couch and make it fit our space was the best part. Other stores have standard (non customizable) for almost the same price. Why pay the same and get less.

Stephen was great... he was knowledgeable and friendly but not pushy. We love our new sofa... it's soooo comfy! My only complaint is about the delivery process. The sofa was delivered on time and in perfect condition. But when the delivery folks took our old sofa (as arranged), down to the loading area in our building... they dragged it across the floor, which caused two tears in the fabric. We were donating the sofa to Habitat for Humanity so it was unfortunate that it was damaged.

Had a great experience at this store! Karen was incredibly helpful, informative, not pushy, and made the whole process enjoyable. We placed a custom order and were told to expect delivery in 6-8 weeks. If you're looking for high-quality, Canadian-made furniture built with real craftsmanship — something that grows with you rather than a trendy brand you'll replace in 3-4 years — Chesterfield is worth a visit. Based on the store and buying experience alone, it's a 10/10. I'll be sure to update this review once our order arrives to share more on the quality and delivery experience.
