We specialize in sofas, modular deep sectionals, sofa-beds (with amazing mattresses), pairs of chairs, recliners and seating that disassembles and reassembles (we’ll do it for you upon delivery!) for easy access into most tight spaces (and small elevators and narrow stairways!). We provide a free “check-measure” service if you are in-doubt of the fit.

The Chesterfield Shop opened it’s original location in Toronto’s Junction selling sofa-beds. Over the past 7 decades, The Chesterfield Shop remains family-owned and operated, and has evolved into 6 wonderful locations in the GTA and Newmarket– and sofa-beds are still our thing. They come in all shapes, from single and full to Queen and King. With easy-to-open contract mechanisms, and a large selection of Posturepedic or gel mattresses, there is a comfortable sleeping option for everyone. In-stock or special order.

The Chesterfield Shop carries City-Size™Seating designed to look proportionally beautiful and easily fit into smaller spaces. Many of the sofa we carry have arms and backs that can be removed and reassembled for impossibly tight spaces. We offer complimentary check-measures if there’s any doubt- we do our best to ensure a “no-fit” doesn’t occur.

Don’t let the unfortunate website fool you. I almost didn’t even bother to visit if it weren’t for the number of glowing recommendations I received from my local Facebook parenting group. We had visited so many stores and sat on so many sofas. When we walked into this store it was a full-body YES. Every single value point in this store was miles above the competition. Let me count the ways: The selection of classic and contemporary styles and performance fabrics was incredible. I mean really customizable, like pick your arm style, leg style, leg colour, chaise, extra middle seat, pull out bed etc. SO many permutations. The flexibility in terms of modular options made it so much easier for us to find something perfectly sized for our small awkward space. Prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to the competition, AND when you factor in the fact they manufacture in Toronto and offer a 5 year unlimited guarantee for a small added fee, I had zero hesitation. The service was friendly and relaxed. Run, don’t walk, if you’re in the market for your next sofa! Stephan was a fabulous salesperson. Highly recommend!

The Chesterfield Shop by its longevity tells you something - it’s a great! Being in business since 1948 speaks volumes! What I didn’t know, a secret that needs release (secret to me anyway) is they have an absolutely FANTASTIC location on King. This location caters to small spaces! Small spaces equals condo living! Their selection is amazing. And their customer service is beyond reproach. I stumbled in there on a rainy Saturday morning (May 20th)only to be greeted by a very friendly and sincerely welcoming staff. Stephen took great pains with great patience to listen and actually hear me about what I needed, what my concerns were [and how we’re going to fit it in the elevator of a condo.] before assisting me in selecting the perfect sofa.. The customer service from Stephen was outstanding. I didn’t feel any pressure to buy. I was encouraged to look around and to take my time before making such a selection. He really helped me all the way through it. If you haven’t been to this location in King, you must go - especially if you’re living Downtown. They actually cater to condo living at this location! I didn’t know this. To be sure, there are options out there. But if you want well made, top quality Canadian made - this is your store. They only sell high-quality furniture that will last as long as you want to keep it ! And as noted, the customer service is second to none. What more can I say than that? Stephan and the team were fantastic in helping us pick out a new sofa. It was a big purchase for us and they didn’t rush or pressure us like a lot of other shops we visited. The only point of improvement for me would be their online store doesn’t showcase all of their products or the materials they have available. They do sleepers that come in parts and are built in your basement, if only we had known that prior to going to ikea, we would have bought one from them too! The quality of product is pretty high end but you aren’t paying an extortionate price which is great. Would go back in the future!

Best place to shop for a couch. I checked the brick, Leon’s, lazyboy , ikea , structube, west elm, eq3 and many other boutique shops. This store has best quality , and the deals are good considering the quality you’re getting. Stephen the store manager was great at listening to my style of what I was looking for and guiding me. They can also change and customize Size, configuration, fabric and colour. Stephen gave me his email and stated in touch to help me. I ultimately ended up buying from a different Chesterfield shop that was much closer to my home but I recommend the store and appreciated Stephen‘s help. Now to wait and see if it comes in the promised timeline 🙃🙂
